Jeff Arnold, founder of WebMD and Sharecare, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 TiE Top Entrepreneurs Awards Gala on Sept. 22, 2016 held at The Fox Theatre in Midtown Atlanta.

At the peak of the dot-com boom - and at only 28 years old - Arnold founded the medical news portal WebMD in 1998 and built it through a series of acquisitions into a $1 billion revenue company.

It connects users with personalized resources, including high-quality information from experts, clinical decision support tools, interactive programs and local healthcare providers.

“Jeff Arnold’s vision and ideas revolutionized the way consumers interact with health and wellness, and entrepreneurs like him work everyday to change the way people, businesses interact with one another,” Kanchana Raman, president of TiE Atlanta. “We are thrilled to honor Jeff Arnold with the Lifetime Achievement Award this year.”

Sharecare has received the backing of Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Discovery Communications and Sony Pictures Television. Sharecare, where Arnold is the Chairman and CEO, has also garnered the support of highly acclaimed healthcare leaders such as the Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins, and New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

Nearly 45 million people have shared more than 5 billion data points about their health status and habits with Sharecare, which then creates a comprehensive health profile allowing users to access all of their health resources in one place, and dynamically connect to the knowledge, evidence-based programs and health professionals they need.

Arnold will also giving the keynote address at the gala that will honor over 20 Atlanta startups and companies that have earned a revenue between $2 and 100 million.
