Atlanta-based Wheego Electric Cars Issued California Autonomous Vehicle Testing Permit

WHEEGO ELECTRIC CARS announced it has been issued an Autonomous Vehicle Testing Permit by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. The permit allows Wheego to test its autonomous vehicles on public roads in California.
“We have been working on machine-learning algorithms, and exploring how that technology can be brought to market to positively impact people’s lives,” stated Wheego Electric Cars CEO Mike McQuary. “The Electric Car industry has quickly become the technological forefront of the automotive industry. The next logical step is for connected cars and devices to make increasingly intelligent decisions to advance safety and mobility options. We are excited to be able to test our self-driving vehicles on California’s public roadways.”
In addition to proven expertise and experience with electric vehicle drive trains and battery management systems, the Wheego team now includes industry experts in artificial intelligence, machine learning, networked communications and autonomous driving technologies.
