Data Strategy announced the opening of a new sales and engineering office in Atlanta, Ga. The office will serve as the hub of the company’s Southeast region and be led by General Manager Sean Raftery, a former area vice president with EMC.

Data Strategy is a technology consulting firm that specializes in integrating datacenter solutions in the mid-market and enterprise segments. Headquartered in Grand Rapids, Mich., Data Strategy also maintains offices in Cincinnati, Detroit, Indianapolis, Louisville, and Lexington. The company, which has tripled its size in 24 months, is known for its top-notch engineering talent and strong professional services team.

“As Data Strategy continues to grow organically and through acquisition, we evaluated several options to expand geographically in the Southeast,” said Dana Jacks, President of Data Strategy. “Atlanta made the most sense, especially for its centralized location in the region and for its access to outstanding technical talent, which is the calling card of our organization.”

Regional leaders are aggressively recruiting top sales and engineering talent to the team while focusing on introducing Data Strategy to the business community.

Raftery comes to Data Strategy after 15 years with EMC, most recently as Area Vice President – Ohio Valley, where he managed a $185 million sales organization and a team of 90. While he is relocating from Cincinnati, Raftery is familiar with Atlanta having lived in the area as a youth and again early in his professional career.

Joining Raftery from EMC is Dan Sedney, who will serve as the region’s Sales Manager. At EMC, Sedney was a top-performing District Sales Manager, with a specialized focus in the mid-market and enterprise space. He brings more than 12 years in technology solution sales, 11 of it with EMC. He is relocating from Columbus, Ohio.
