MAC Bioscience and Health IT Leadership Council Announces 2016 Phoenix Award Recipients

The Metro Atlanta Chamber Bioscience and Health IT Leadership Council announced the winners of the 2016 Phoenix Awards. Presented annually in conjunction with the Health IT Leadership Summit, the awards recognize individuals and companies that have made an outstanding contribution to the growth of the health information technology industry in Georgia.
 
“The Metro Atlanta Chamber Bioscience and Health IT Leadership Council is pleased to announce this year’s Phoenix Award winners,” said Robert Hendricks, SVP and CIO/CTO of McKesson Technology Solutions and chair of MAC’s Bioscience and Health IT Leadership Council. “The 2016 winners represent the broad spectrum of innovation happening around health IT and healthcare in metro Atlanta and throughout Georgia.”
 
This year’s winners are as follows:

·        Startup Company of the Year: Zywie

·        Emerging Company of the Year: Ingenious Med

·        Hospital of the Year: Piedmont Hospital

·        The Pat Williams’ Community Leader of the Year: Dr. Denise W. Hines
 
The Community Leader of the Year Award was renamed this year to honor Pat D. Williams, president of McKenzie Daniels & Associates, chair of the Institute for Healthcare Information Technology, and former chair of TAG Health. Williams has been an active leader throughout the business and academic community advocating for health IT.
