Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Lowe's are hosting the annual Blue Door Decorating Contest as part of National Boys & Girls Club Week, March 27th-31st. More than 600 Boys & Girls Clubs across the country submitted photos of decorated doors that illustrate how their Clubs are opening the door to great futures for America's kids and teens, for a chance to win a $20,000 improvement grant.

For the past 5 years, Lowe's has supported the Blue Door Decorating Contest to help Clubs maintain a positive environment where children and teens are empowered during out-of-school time. This year, Lowe's will award the winning Club with a $20,000 grant and $1,000 grants to the other six finalists. The public can vote for their favorite door on BGCA.org/BGCWeek until Thursday, March 30th, at 12 p.m. PST.

"Everyday professional staff, mentors and volunteers at local Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide provide a safe place for kids to spend time out-of-school, where they can grow into healthy, productive, successful young people and achieve great futures," said Jim Clark, president and CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of America. " With the help of Lowe's, Boys & Girls Clubs of America can continue to make critical improvements needed to ensure we are opening the door to endless possibilities to all, especially those who need us most."

"We are always impressed with how the Boys & Girls Clubs across the country creatively express their mission through the Blue Door Decorating contest," said James Frison, Lowe's community relations director. "Lowe's recognizes the invaluable service these Clubs bring to our nation's youth and communities and are honored to help support them in this fun way."

The contest is part of National Boys & Girls Week which honors the 4,300 Clubs who offer evidence-based programs and advocate for positive outcomes for youth in the areas of academic success, healthy lifestyle, and good character and citizenship. Through Club tours, open houses and community events, Clubs will have the opportunity to showcase their best-in-class programming and highlight the important role they play in enhancing the lives of young people.
