WHAT: Join the Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter and its founding members of Think Women for lunch on April 11, 2017 to learn the latest on Alzheimer's research from Alzheimer's Association chief science officer, Dr. Maria Carrillo.

The Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter's Think Women is a group of women for women. Think Women aims to inspire and lead philanthropic giving while focusing on the overwhelming needs of women facing the devastation of Alzheimer's disease, either as a person living with the disease or as a caregiver. It will also serve to identify female leaders in the community to promote Alzheimer's education and engage in legislative advocacy.

WHO: Guest speaker Dr. Maria Carrillo is chief science officer of medical and scientific relations at the Alzheimer's Association. She was the Alzheimer's expert scientific consultant for the 2014 film Still Alice and is on the governing board of the Global Brain Health Institute, which aims to reduce the scale and impact of dementia around the world by training leaders to translate research into effective policy and practice.

The Alzheimer's Association is the world's leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's research, care and support. Its mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
