Joseph Blanco Named Crawford & Company SVP and General Counsel

Crawford & Company, the world's largest publicly listed independent provider of claims management solutions to insurance companies and self insured entities, announced the appointment of Joseph Blanco as senior vice president and general counsel. Blanco has been serving as the company's interim general counsel since September 2016.
In his new permanent position, Blanco is a member of the company's global executive management team and reports directly to Crawford's president and CEO. Blanco most recently served as managing partner of the Atlanta office of Dentons, the world's largest law firm. He also served as vice chair of the corporate department of McKenna, Long & Aldridge LLP prior to its merger with Dentons.

During his career, Blanco has been a corporate counselor with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, he has extensive experience representing boards of directors and special committees in governance reviews and investigations for public, private and governmental entities.
He was recently recognized by BTI Consulting Group as a Client Service All Star for 2017 and has been recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyer. He was a member of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2012 and the Leadership Georgia Class of 2014. He serves on the boards of St. Vincent de Paul of Georgia, Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Emory Center for Ethics.
Blanco holds a Juris Doctor degree from Emory University, where he served as editor in chief of the Emory Law Journal, and a bachelor's degree in economics and government from the University of Notre Dame, where he served as student body president. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
