Foundation Building Materials, Inc., one of the largest specialty distributors of wallboard and suspended ceiling systems in the United States and Canada, announced that it has closed the acquisition of Trident Distribution, Inc.’s Atlanta, Georgia branch location. Trident Distribution’s Atlanta branch provides mechanical insulation, materials and accessories, including pipe fabrication, for use in industrial, commercial, power, and process industry construction.

“The acquisition of Trident Distribution marks FBM’s first acquisition within the attractive mechanical insulation segment since our acquisition of Winroc-SPI in August of 2016,” said Ruben Mendoza, FBM’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our ability to expand further into mechanical insulation fits well with our business strategy and strengthens our market position in the Atlanta metro area.
