Gas South received a Bronze Stevie Award in the HR Department of the Year category in The 15th Annual American Business Awards. This is the first year Gas South has been honored at the ABAs, the nation’s premier business awards program.
Throughout 2016, the human resources team of six implemented pivotal changes to mark Gas South’s tenth year in business. The department supported the introduction of a $15 minimum wage, formalized the corporate wellness program, revamped the internal learning management system and updated the attendance policy to allow more flexibility for Gas South’s more than 200 employees.
“Our small but mighty HR team is hyper focused on creating a top work environment,” said Meredith Hodges, Gas South vice president of human resources and external affairs. “As we continue to build Gas South’s reputation as a great place to work, we’re creating new programs and initiatives that inspire and engage our amazing employees.”
More than 3,600 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.
“Each year the judges find the quality and variety of the nominations to be greater than the year before. The 2017 competition was intense and every organization that has won should be proud,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.
