Hartsfield-Jackson, Delta Air Lines, Environmental Group Partner to Conserve Water

Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Wednesday, June 7th, 2017

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport officials, in partnership with Delta Air Lines and the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, will announce June 7 the launch of Change the Course, a yearlong water conservation and restoration initiative. Through education and awareness, this initiative aims to restore 30 million gallons over the next year to Georgia’s waterways. This includes the Flint River, which flows directly under ATL.

By simply texting their efforts to a designated number or refilling water bottles at specially marked water stations, ATL’s more than 104 million annual passengers can help make a difference. Change the Course restores 1,000 gallons of water for every text received or bottle filled.

Wednesday’s press conference will feature ATL, Delta and City of Atlanta officials who will explain the specifics of the effort.
