Metro Atlanta Chamber's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Team Partners with Microsoft for Atlanta HoloHack Event
Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO
Monday, June 12th, 2017
MAC’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship team has partnered with Microsoft to produce an event around their HoloLens<https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/hololens> technology. We’re looking to engage companies interested in the HoloLens technology and introduce them to developers who can help integrate this technology into their company. This will be a 2 day HoloHack that is intended to first help companies map out strategies that they would like to implement, and then pair them with developers who can execute on these plans. Current corporations attending: NCR, Home Depot, IHG, Panasonic, and Cox Automotive.
Potential outcomes from this event:
· A success story of a startup or developer working with a corporation to implement this technology (i.e – Home Depot is paired with a Georgia Tech grad student/developer and they help to strategize and code the HoloLens which will help them build out a component of a new product at Home Depot).
· In some cases, corporations may already have developers who are knowledgeable about the technology so therefore they may not be paired with anyone. However, if the corporation still learns how to incorporate the technology into their company in a meaningful way that is still a win and could be considered innovation.
