The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership is pleased to announce that Target has joined Cox Enterprises and WellStar Atlanta Medical Center as a Presenting Sponsor for the 2017 Lantern Parade on September 9.  Ponce City Market is also supporting the parade as a Platinum Sponsor.

The Lantern Parade marks the beginning of this year’s Art on the Atlanta BeltLine, the largest temporary public art exhibition in the South. The parade is a two-mile pedestrian procession of light and sound that winds down the Atlanta BeltLine’s Eastside Trail, beginning at Krog and Irwin Streets in Inman Park and ending at 10thStreet and Monroe Drive near Piedmont Park. Created by and featuring Chantelle Rytter and the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons, since 2010 the Lantern Parade has brought tens of thousands of participants and spectators together to illuminate the Atlanta BeltLine and celebrate the benefits of art in the local community. A lantern is required to participate in the parade, and a series of lantern-making workshops open to the public will be held in the days leading up to the event. Lanterns are not required for spectators watching the parade.

“The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership is thrilled that Target is joining Cox Enterprises and WellStar Atlanta Medical Center as a Presenting Sponsor of this year’s Lantern Parade,” said the Partnership’s Executive Director Rob Brawner. “Target’s commitment to community aligns very well with the Lantern Parade’s goal of connecting people to the Atlanta BeltLine.”
