SLAM Welcomes New Atlanta Corporate/Commercial Practice Leader

The S/L/A/M Collaborative is pleased to announce and welcome James Puckhaber, as Corporate/Commercial Practice Leader-Atlanta. SLAM brings a pragmatic and collaborative approach to corporate/commercial design that seeks to redefine office space. Puckhaber will lead the effort to create new kinds of office buildings that respond to ever changing tenant demands in our rapidly evolving city and region.
By leveraging Puckhaber’s experience working with owners and developers to design and deliver inspiring, quality office buildings, alongside SLAM’s workplace expertise in creating high-performing work environments, he will also help to expand SLAM’s established Corporate and Commercial Practice nationally.

Puckhaber has 20 years of design, project management, and construction experience in a broad range of building types with a focus on office buildings, and has completed award winning work for high-rise office buildings, cultural institutions, and higher education. Prior to joining SLAM, he served as project manager/commercial office building practice leader for Gensler Atlanta. He has previously held positions with Pei Cobb Freed & Partners Architects, LLP, Garrison Siegel Architects of New York, NY, and Coop Himmelb(l)au in Vienna, Austria.

Throughout his career, Puckhaber has practiced and advocated for design that boldly responds to the changing trends that are shaping the way we live, work and play. He is an active member of the Urban Land Atlanta Institute and graduate, class of 2017, from the ULI Center for Leadership. His thought leadership on design trends and work on corporate office spaces has been cited in industry publications, and he enjoys speaking about office buildings at industry events.
Puckhaber holds a Master of Architecture from University of Michigan, a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Georgia Tech.
