Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Thursday, October 19th, 2017

The City of Atlanta announced that it will celebrate National Customer Service Week, which runs from Monday, October 2 through Friday, October 6, 2017. The City will celebrate the importance of providing quality customer service and the city employees who serve and support customers on a daily basis. The City of Atlanta will also celebrate the anniversary of the ATL311 Customer Service Center, a signature initiative launched three years ago by Mayor Kasim Reed.

“When we unveiled ATL311 back in October 2014, the goal was to modernize the customer service experience and make the City of Atlanta more accountable, responsive and efficient,” said Mayor Kasim Reed. “Thanks to the hard work of Rocky Atkins and his team at ATL311, our goal of providing a high-level of customer service to our residents and visitors is being achieved every day.”

ATL311 is Atlanta’s one source for all non-emergency city services. Residents, businesses and visitors can dial 311 or log onto ATL311.com to submit service requests for issues that range from water leaks and pot holes to trash pickup and business licensing and permitting. Customers can also track their service requests once submitted. ATL311 takes an average 1,600 calls per day with 85 percent of those calls answered within 20 seconds. Additionally, ATL311 handles nearly 50,000 service requests per month.

“I’m proud of the work we’re doing across the City of Atlanta to deliver world class customer service,” said Rocky Atkins, Executive Director of Customer Service for the City of Atlanta. “The ATL311 team works closely with Watershed, Public Works and other city departments to ensure we are resolving service requests in a timely manner. National Customer Service Week gives us the opportunity to recognize the work of our customer service professionals in ATL311. I invite everyone to join us at one of the various events being held around the city.”

During NCSW, ATL311 will host informational community pop-ups which will educate the public about ATL311 and the services it offers:
