DeKalb Chamber Board Chairman Appointed to Executive Committee of National Transit Association

DeKalb Chamber Board Chairman Frederick L. Daniels, Jr., has been named to the executive committee of the American Public Transportation Association, an association that advocates for public transportation. He will serve a two-year term as an at-large member of the board.

“In his time serving as our Board Chairman, Fred has proven himself as a strategic and decisive leader and we know he will represent DeKalb County well in this endeavor,” said Katerina Taylor, President and CEO of the DeKalb Chamber. “Fred’s leadership and unique experience on the APTA board will be beneficial for our region as we look to expand MARTA and explore other transportation needs.”

“I am honored to serve on the APTA executive committee, as this service will allow me to continue to advocate for more transit in DeKalb, the Region and throughout the nation,” said Daniels.

Daniels is the Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer of Citizens Trust Bank and represents DeKalb County on the MARTA board of directors. He served a two-year term as the MARTA Board Chair in 2011 and 2012.

He is an advocate for economic empowerment and has served on the boards for South DeKalb Business Association, Partnership for Community Action, Greater Atlanta Urban League, and East DeKalb Community Improvement District.
