Teach for America Appoints Atlanta Attorney to Board

Attorney Simon Bloom, the founder of and partner with Bloom Sugarman LLP, has been appointed to Teach for America Metro-Atlanta’s Advisory Board. Teach for America Metro-Atlanta was founded in 2000 and has been committed to pursuing educational equity and excellence since it began.
 
Bloom focuses his practice on real estate, where he provides advice, counsel and litigation support for complex matters to clients including developers, builders, property owners and brokers throughout the United States. His experience also includes handling legal challenges involving eminent domain, zoning and land use issues, contract disputes, partnership disputes, workout and lender liability, trademark disputes, and patents and trade secrets.
 
Bloom also is a frequent commentator on legal trends and political issues. He has been quoted in Bloomberg BNA and a number of local print publications and broadcast outlets while authoring articles for The Hill and the Daily Report. These activities have addressed topics that include U.S. Supreme Court decisions, Constitutional issues, proposed state legislation and regulation, and newly enacted laws. Bloom also has written articles for national trade publications such as Construction Executive and Construction Financial Management Association.

The appointment continues a commitment to service for Bloom in the Atlanta community. He also has served in a number of high-ranking roles for the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta, on the Governing Board for the Great Promise Partnership, the Advisory Council Board for the Marcus Autism Center and the Board of Directors for Project Open Hand.
 
Bloom earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
