Thursday, January 18th, 2018

Bloom Parham LLP is pleased to announce that Stephen M. Parham, who has more than 18 years of experience in counseling clients and trying cases in the fields of complex commercial, construction, business, fiduciary duty, real estate and tort litigation, has been named managing partner of the firm, which has been renamed to reflect this change. Parham has extensive experience in state and federal trial and appellate courts and before alternative dispute resolution neutrals across the country, along with expertise in general corporate matters, including drafting of corporate governance documents, review and drafting of contracts and leases, and general risk management.

“I am excited by the challenge of my new role and am looking forward to continuing the tremendous growth that this firm has witnessed since Simon Bloom founded it nearly 11 years ago,” Parham said. “The results that we have achieved for our clients speak for themselves and we will build upon that in 2018 and beyond.”

Simon Bloom, who began his career at one of Atlanta’s oldest and largest firms, founded the firm on the idea that clients would benefit from big-firm strategy and fervent litigation delivered by a boutique, service-oriented firm. He praised Parham and has high expectations for Parham’s tenure.

“Steve has been a great partner and will achieve big things in this new role,” Bloom said. “His experience with corporate governance will be a boon to the firm. Having started his career at Troutman Sanders and Balch & Bingham and also having worked at SunTrust, his experience working inside large law firms and a large corporation will serve us well.

“Our commitment to the concepts upon which I founded the firm remains. We want our clients to know that our pledge to providing high-quality legal services and first-class client  service will remain unchanged.”

Parham’s clients include publicly traded and private companies, construction companies, real estate developers, joint-ventures and partnerships. He has tried dozens of cases to verdict as lead counsel in metro Atlanta and across the states of Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Texas. His representative matters include:

Negotiating voluntary receiverships for numerous commercial properties, including a $25 million Class A office building, a $15 million multi-family property and various retail strip centers and other commercial properties.

Representing the CEO of a failed community bank against FDIC-R claims for $10 million.

Successfully traversing garnishment summons in a $2.9 million complex commercial collections action.

Successfully representing a general partner against multi-million-dollar claims from limited partners in a dispute over a low-income, multi-family housing tax credit investment project.
