SunTrust Announces Mortgage Leadership Retirement, Appointment

SunTrust Banks, Inc. announced that SunTrust Mortgage executive Dorinda Smith will retire effective March 31, 2018, following a 22-year career at SunTrust. Todd Chamberlain will join SunTrust succeeding Smith as executive vice president and head of Mortgage, reporting to vice chairman and Consumer segment executive, Mark Chancy.
 
“Throughout her tenure, Dorinda Smith has led teams that are instrumental in helping our clients become more financially confident, particularly when making the important decision to purchase a new home,” said Chancy. “With more than 30 years of experience in banking and mortgage, Todd Chamberlain brings a wealth of knowledge and talent to SunTrust. We look forward to his leadership as we continue to develop ways to make our mortgage process as seamless and stress-free as possible for our clients.”
 
Chamberlain joins SunTrust from Regions Bank, where he served as executive vice president of Consumer Lending Support Services. His previous experience includes serving as president and CEO of PNC Mortgage and as executive vice president and head of Mortgage for Regions Bank. Chamberlain serves as chairman of the Housing Policy Council, an affiliate of the Financial Services Roundtable.
