GovSense, a leading cloud-based software solution provider for state and local government, has added the City of Alpharetta, Georgia, to its family of clients. The City of Alpharetta, which proclaims to be the technology city of the south, uses the GovSense Economic Development platform to manage business expansion and retention.

The City of Alpharetta is home to over 640 technology-based businesses. As companies start looking for a more technology-friendly location for their offices, that number is only expected to increase in coming years, leaving the city’s Economic Development department with new tasks that weren’t an issue two years ago.

“The city’s biggest challenge was managing new opportunities and projects coming into the city. They needed a solution that makes it easy to communicate with site selectors while ensuring fair and valuable incentives for new businesses,” explained Gary McTall, co-founder of GovSense. “With the GovSense solution, the process becomes much easier, as employees can go to one place to review all the information for the project and details about the potential company. They can also track the marketing materials they need to provide and manage outstanding, declined and accepted incentives.”

Over the past several years, the City of Alpharetta has opened its doors to some of the largest and most innovative companies on the planet, becoming the number one city to relocate to according to Forbes Magazine, and the sixth fastest growing city in the U.S., according to their Economic Development website.* Through the adoption of the GovSense solution, the city can now easily manage project information for business expansion while also focusing on business retention by encouraging streamlined, transparent communication with existing businesses.

Paul Cammisa, co-founder of GovSense, understands the importance of having the right software for Economic Development management. “Because Alpharetta is the location of our headquarters, we have seen the city grow firsthand and are excited to be a part of their progress,” he said. “Through our software, the city will now be able to focus on business retention and expansion while improving interdepartmental communication. We provide a data platform that lets them have all the information in one place, allowing users to work with ‘one version of the truth,’ benefitting both business owners and city workers.”
