Friday, March 30th, 2018
Atlanta mobile task management provider Curo announced its support of the Veterans Initiative program at the upcoming Georgia Logistics Summit. The program was developed to encourage military veterans and service members to explore employment and networking opportunities in the supply chain industry. Through the initiative, all veterans and current service members can attend the Georgia Logistics Summit for a special reduced registration rate of $75. In addition, the Summit is working to provide complimentary tickets to at least 100 veterans or current service members on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested veterans should visit “Vets at 2018 Summit” to provide contact information.
The Georgia Logistics Summit will be held April 9-12 at the Georgia World Congress Center. Created in 2009, the Summit has grown from 400 attendees in its first year to nearly 1,500 in 2017.
“Companies are looking for the skills, experiences and values that military veterans can bring to supply chain and logistics careers,” said Greg White, chief executive officer, Curo. “It’s a pleasure for Curo to join all the other great supply chain companies in Georgia to help attract and empower military and veteran talent to bring their expertise to civilian supply chain and logistics. Special thanks to USAF Veteran and Georgia Logistics Summit Executive Committee member Scott Luton for creating and leading this project.”
As part of the initiative, Curo is offering participating service members the opportunity to obtain Curo Experience Level One certification, verifying understanding and operation of the Curo task management application. This certification is valued by leading companies like Curo customer NPSG in implementation projects.
Curo is a mobile task management application designed to identify tasks and streamline work within a jobsite, the four walls of a warehouse, a hotel—or any workplace with multiple projects and assignments. The Curo app captures every needed activity, delegates to the right workers, provides communication and workflow guidance while confirming and offering proof of completion that the job was done correctly, the first time.
Curo joins Anderson Transportation and Logistics, C.H. Robinson, Curo, Manhattan Associates, NPSG Global, Shippers Warehouse, Spend Management Experts, TalentStream, TeamOne Logistics and Valentine Solutions in sponsoring the Veterans Initiative.
“The Veterans Initiative was created to help military veterans understand and market the valuable logistics and supply chain skills they acquired during their time of service,” said Matt Markham, director, Center of Innovation for Logistics at Georgia Department of Economic Development. “We want to give veterans every opportunity to find employment in Georgia by networking with supply chain professionals in some of the fastest-growing industries in the state. We’re thankful to the partners that are leading this effort.”
The 2018 Georgia Logistics Summit features keynotes from Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, UPS Chief Information and Engineering Officer Juan Perez and Delta Air Lines Senior Vice President Gareth Joyce, as well as nearly 50 speakers from prominent shippers in the industry, leaders in the state's infrastructure and economic development community.
The 2018 Summit will be co-located with MODEX, the largest supply chain trade show in the United States, bringing in an additional 30,000 attendees from across the end-to-end supply chain.
