Atlanta-based restaurants Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall, Golden Eagle, and Muchacho have come on as the inaugural restaurants for the “Bites on the BeltLine” program in which the three BeltLine-adjacent restaurants will each donate ten percent of proceeds every Wednesday in April to the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership.

This initiative will help fund the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership’s efforts to build support for the Atlanta BeltLine while connecting people to the project through its health and wellness, educational, cultural, and volunteer programs and events.  Ladybird, Golden Eagle, and Muchacho are the first restaurants to sign on for “Bites on the BeltLine,” poised to become an ongoing collaborative effort between local restaurants and the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership.

Atlanta native Michael Lennox is the restaurateur behind all three eateries, and he has had close ties to the BeltLine since opening Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall in 2014 as the first outdoor-oriented bar and restaurant to open along the Eastside Trail. Last year, Michael opened adjacent restaurants Golden Eagle and Muchacho in a former train depot in Reynoldstown along a future extension of the trail.

“Our restaurants are rooted along the BeltLine, and it’s an honor to team up with the Partnership to show our gratitude for all that the project has done for Atlanta,” said Lennox. “Through the efforts of the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership and Atlanta BeltLine Inc., the trail has developed into a miles-long destination that continues to bring people together and connect neighborhoods throughout the city. We’re excited to provide an opportunity for guests dining with us on Wednesdays to have a great time while supporting the broader vision of the BeltLine.”

The Atlanta BeltLine is the most comprehensive revitalization effort ever undertaken in the City of Atlanta connecting 45 neighborhoods directly to each other. Founded in 2005, the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership is the nonprofit organization that supports the Atlanta BeltLine through fundraising, programming and advocacy, and works with communities, organizations and businesses like Lennox’s restaurants.

“Support from individuals and businesses provides essential funding for our programming and events and aids our ability to raise philanthropic capital to advance Atlanta BeltLine, Inc.’s implementation of the Atlanta BeltLine,” said Rob Brawner, Executive Director of the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership. “The Partnership appreciates Ladybird, Muchacho and Golden Eagle for kicking off ‘Bites on the BeltLine’, and we invite additional BeltLine-based businesses to do the same. Through fundraising initiatives such as this, local businesses and BeltLine supporters can make a significant difference in helping deliver the full Atlanta BeltLine vision.”
