Waffle House Founders will be Honored at Waffle House Museum this Saturday
Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO
Monday, March 5th, 2018
Waffle House fans are invited to stop by the Waffle House Museum Saturday, March 3, from noon to 3pm to celebrate the lives of Waffle House Founders Joe Rogers Sr. and Tom Forkner. This event is free to the public and all tours include free coupons and other Waffle House gifts.
Both Joe and Tom passed away in 2017, and this Saturday we will come together at the site of their first restaurant to honor their commitment to their customers and associates. The museum is where the Waffle House experience began as a dream of these two Avondale Estates neighbors on Labor Day 1955. Little did Joe and Tom know at that time their dream would grow to the Waffle House phenomenon of today.
The Waffle House Museum is located at 2719 E. College Ave, Decatur, GA 30030. The museum has attained many honors including being named an historic site in the state of Georgia and named to Southern Living’s list of “The South’s Best Roadside Attractions.”
