The 100 Companies, a PR publishing network, has promoted Ted Langford from the position of VP, Director of Sales to VP, General Manager.

Since he joined the team in 2015, Ted has been leading the expansion of The 100 Companies both nationally and internationally, which now includes 16 markets. He has also been responsible for managing member relations.

Prior to joining The 100 Companies, Ted was in the publishing business for 25 years. He started his career as a sports writer, business reporter and sports editor at the Anderson (SC) Independent-Mail and later at The Greenville (SC) News. He moved to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as Assistant Sports Editor before electing to switch to the Advertising/Marketing division at the AJC.

Ted worked at Cox Media Group for 20 years leading sales teams in Atlanta, West Palm Beach and Austin TX. He was also involved in the startup of Cox Interactive Media, the company’s first digital division selling ad placements on all of Cox media properties.

“I first met Ted Langford in the newsroom of the Greenville News in 1981 when he was the assistant sports editor and I was the legal reporter. We became friends, having both grown up in Atlanta, and worked again years later in advertising at the AJC,” said President/Founder Chris Schroder. “A year after I started The Atlanta 100, Ted and I met for lunch, where he expressed an interest in helping with our member expansion. Since then, Ted has been responsible for managing member relations, and we’ve successfully grown to 16 markets with eight in the queue. We’re excited about him leading our growth and managing our operational areas in what is a very innovative and dynamic digital world. “

“There’s nothing more exciting in business than to be part of a young company that’s growing at such a rapid pace. I am honored to work with such a highly talented group of professionals that all realize we’re part of something special at The 100 Companies,” said Ted Langford.
