Eric Hunger has been named CEO of ElectroBike USA. In his new role, Hunger will oversee the expansion of ElectroBike retail and service franchises throughout the continental United States and Canada, focusing initially on Southeastern markets. A former global vice president of sales and marketing for several manufacturing and distribution companies, Hunger previously served as President of ElectroBike Georgia and currently owns two Atlanta ElectroBike stores in Brookhaven and along the Atlanta Beltline.
ElectroBike was founded in Mexico City in 2012 and quickly spread to the U.S., opening its first U.S. store in Venice Beach, CA in 2014. Now, as people clamor for eco-friendly, cutting-edge transportation and recreational options, ElectroBike is expanding throughout the U.S. and internationally. With Hunger’s appointment as CEO, the company’s U.S. corporate headquarters and warehouse operations will be based in Atlanta.
“ElectroBikes offer people of all ages a safe, affordable and fun way to get around town, as well as to enjoy for recreation,” said Hunger. “The small motors are quiet and clean and provide power when you want it. ElectroBikes can be operated as traditional bicycles, or the rider can flip a switch to engage the throttle or turn on the pedal-assist feature. The Lithium ion batteries recharge in about an hour and a half simply by plugging them into a standard wall outlet, making the bikes perfect for commuters. Some models even fold up so you easily take them with you into your home or office. I love how ElectroBikes encourage people to enjoy cycling at their own pace, since they eliminate any concerns about returning to the starting point at the end of the ride.”
