Morris, Manning & Martin Partner Tony Roehl has accepted the post of Co-chair of the firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance Practice. Roehl, based in Atlanta, shares leadership of the group with Robert “Skip” Myers, who is Managing Partner of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
In addition to concentrating on insurance regulatory and corporate matters, Roehl also speaks nationally on cutting-edge topics such as insurance aspects of drones, self-driving cars, and other unmanned vehicles.
His experience includes assisting insurance companies and insurance agencies with mergers and acquisitions – completing dozens of M&A transactions within the last two years – as well as corporate consolidations. He also advises insurance companies, private equity investors, entrepreneurs, insuretech companies and alternative risk transfer vehicles regarding all aspects of company formation, licensing and regulatory compliance, Holding Company Act filings and transactions, and managing the approval of form and rate filings.
Roehl is on the board of the Georgia Captive Insurance Association and chairs the organization’s Legislative Committee. He also serves on the board of the Georgia Chapter of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit funded and directed by insurance industry professionals to help communities and enrich lives by providing grants, volunteer service and leadership. In addition, he is a member of both the Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association Legislative Committee and the Federation of Regulatory Counsel.
