Over the past 20 years, TiE Atlanta has fostered entrepreneurs through mentoring, education, funding, and networking with its diverse programs and engaging and impactful business leaders, emerging entrepreneurs, industry experts to put forth its mission and cause.
Started in 1998, the organization’s various programs such as TiE Youth Entrepreneurs, TiE Atlanta Angels, Council of Business Advisors, and more have supported entrepreneurs in all stages, all industries, and of all ages.
While milestones are a great way to celebrate heritage, TiE Atlanta, like its entrepreneurs, is looking forward to its future. The organization has launched its new 20th anniversary campaign “Invent. Invest. Inspire.” to honor the lifecycle of a TiE member and the future of the organization.
“Over the 20 years, the impact our original founders, charter members, members, sponsors, and volunteers have made to make this organization thrive in indelible,” said Paul Lopez, president of TiE Atlanta. “This campaign not only honors our own entrepreneurial journey, but emphasizes that TiE Atlanta will continue inventing, investing in, and inspiring the current and next generation of entrepreneurs right here in Atlanta and beyond.”
TiE Atlanta is already inventing, investing, and inspiring in many ways:
Less than a year old, the organization launched its investment arm, TiE Atlanta Angels, which has already made over $500,000 in investments across a diverse portfolio.
To continue inventing the next generation of entrepreneurs, TiE Atlanta plans to launch TiE Atlanta Foundation to support TiE Young Entrepreneurs, its signature youth program. The organization aims to raise $50,000 in this anniversary year towards entrepreneurship education.
The newly formed TiE Women’s Council will invest in and inspire women entrepreneurs and leaders across various industries and stages of growth.
“Whether you are in technology, food, manufacturing, beauty, supply chain - TiE Atlanta supports every entrepreneur, in every stage. At the core, that is what we set out to do 20 years ago, and are proud that we are continuing to do so in inventive ways like Angels or the Foundation,” says Lopez. “We are so excited about celebrating TiE’s journey during this year, and we want to continue expanding our reach, diversifying our investments, and inspiring entrepreneurs.”
Throughout the year, the organization will release a series of original content that will honor its original founders, its current Charter Members and thought leaders, and launches of new programs. The celebration will come together at its annual conference TiECON Atlanta being held on September 28, 2018 at the Hotel and Conference Center at Avalon.
