DreamHack Atlanta Early Bird Tickets On Sale Now

Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Friday, May 11th, 2018

Early bird tickets for DreamHack Atlanta are on sale beginning May 9, 2018. Following its resounding debut in Atlanta in 2017, the Sweden-based, premier gaming lifestyle festival will return to the Georgia World Congress Center Friday, Nov. 16 through Sunday, Nov. 18.

The 24-hour, non-stop festival will feature esports including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Brawlhalla, Hearthstone, Smite, Paladins and an array fighting games. The festival will also include amateur and college varsity gaming tournaments, the world-famous 24-hour LAN party, a live music concert, cosplay championships, Dream Expo, panels, freeplay activities and more. Additional details will be announced.

Hi-Rez Expo

After three years of sell-out crowds, incredible esports moments and fantastic memories, Hi-Rez Expo is growing bigger and better than ever before. Atlanta-based Hi-Rez Studios is bringing its famed Hi-Rez Expo to DreamHack Atlanta in November and is expected to welcome a record number of fans to experience the SMITE and Paladins World Championships in person. With the event taking place at DreamHack in the heart of downtown Atlanta (and steps from some of Georgia’s biggest attractions), there will be even more opportunities for panels, meet-and-greets, playable stations, cosplay and more.

Celebrity Cosplayer Yaya Han To Judge DreamHack’s Cosplay Championship

DreamHack Atlanta’s Cosplay Competition will reach an all new level with the arrival of celebrity head judge Yaya Han joining the team. Yaya Han — a native Atlantan — is one of only a few cosplayers in the world to build a business in this hobbyist community. After a decade of success, she strives to stay true to what got her into this field originally — fun and creativity. To this day, Yaya has made more than 375 costumes, appeared as a guest at hundreds of events around the globe, and been featured in two U.S. network TV, shows. Yaya is the first cosplayer to create a cosplay-focused fabric line for Jo-Ann fabric and Craft Stores; the first to design a cosplay patterns line for a major pattern company, McCall Patterns; and the first cosplayer to launch a sewing machine with Bernina Sewing Machine Company.

DreamHack Selects ‘Save the Children’ as Global Charity Beneficiary

DreamHack is proud to be a supporter of global humanitarian organization Save the Children in 2018. Save the Children will have a presence in the Expo at DreamHack Austin, Atlanta, Summer and Winter, giving attendees an opportunity to learn more about the organization’s work, including a virtual reality experience. During these events, charity streamers will work together in an effort to raise at least $100,000 as part of Save the Children’s Stream Team: creators who game, stream or vlog to help save kids in need. DreamHack will also offer limited edition merchandise to support the cause. All revenue from the limited edition merchandise is donated to Save the Children.

DreamHack Atlanta ticket purchasers also have the option to purchase a Save the Children add-on which costs $10 of which $5 is donated directly to the charity. The purchaser will receive a special Save the Children wristband to show their support, which grants priority access to signing sessions in the Community Zone at DreamHack Atlanta 2018.

Save the Children’s End of Childhood Report is released every year to commemorate International Children’s Day on June 1. The report takes a hard look at the events that rob children around the world of their childhoods and prevent them from reaching their full potential. The report also includes an index of 175 countries, ranking the best and worst places in the world for children to have a safe, secure and healthy childhood.

Save the Children believes every child deserves a future. In the U.S. and around the world, Save the Children gives children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. They do whatever it takes for children — every day and in times of crisis — transforming their lives and the future we share.
