Metcam, a metro Atlanta-based fabricator of sheet metal components and assemblies for original equipment manufacturers, welcomed U.S. Rep. Rob Woodall to its headquarters just weeks after it won “Small Manufacturer of the Year” at the 2018 Governor's Awards. Woodall toured Metcam’s manufacturing facilities and learned about its fabrication capabilities and comprehensive line of value-added services, including product assembly, logistics and inventory programs.

“We all want our local manufacturers and companies to be able to do what they do best,” said Woodall, who represents the Seventh Congressional District of Georgia that includes Metcam’s south Forsyth County location. “Not only has Metcam racked up multiple awards in the past few months, it also continues to expand opportunity for its clients, business partners and talented workforce.”

The congressman reacted with multiple wows when Jerry Ward, Metcam’s Co-Owner and Vice President of Operations, discussed team and machine quality measures and increased productivity due to Kaizen, a system of continual improvement that is a component of lean manufacturing. Metcam’s value-added services are designed to minimize costs and business complexity for clients, which range from Fortune 500 firms to individual inventors.

“We were honored to have received the Small Manufacturer of the Year Award from Governor Deal last month and are now pleased to have Congressman Woodall visit our facility,” said Bruce Hagenau, Metcam’s Co-Owner and President. “These are indicators of the great support that manufacturers in Georgia receive from our local and statewide elected officials.”

The Seventh Congressional District of Georgia is home to multiple manufacturers, technology companies and utility providers. Woodall has worked tirelessly to improve the ability of manufacturers to move products to market, including solidifying a safe and business-friendly regulatory environment.
