A Northern California native and Spelman College alumna, Denise Blake is excited to serve as Wholesome Wave Georgia's Executive Director!

Denise has held key positions in nonprofit, corporate and governmental organizations. Her areas of specialty include program administration and evaluation, curriculum design and training, and resource development.  

“I don’t think I represent a new direction for Wholesome Wave Georgia, so much as a new thrust on lifting up what the organization has already been doing so well. I look forward to using my experience in working with a similar client base to focus on increasing that population’s access to fresh, local, nutritious food.” — Denise Blake

Sara Berney, our first full-time Executive Director of five years, is resigning to continue her education. Blake assumed the role on May 29 and is currently working alongside Berney to ensure a smooth transition.

In addition to supporting fresh, local food, Denise also enjoys tending to her garden, shopping at Atlanta farmers markets, and strumming on her guitar.
