Dixon Hughes Goodman hosted its seventh annual food drive, Count the Cans, to fight hunger during the summer months and make a purposeful impact on the firm's local communities. Over the 10-day campaign, DHG staff and partners gave more than $76,000 to hunger relief organizations in addition to volunteering nearly 1,000 service hours at local food banks. Over the past seven years, DHG has donated an average of 100,000 pounds of food per year through the annual Count the Cans campaign.

“Our people truly care about serving and giving to those in our local communities who are facing the fight with hunger; that fight is real, especially for many school aged children during the summer months,” says Matt Snow, Chief Executive Officer. “It’s gratifying to see such tremendous support from our firm coming together to make an impact through Count the Cans.”

Last year, the Foundation also announced its yearlong partnership with paws4people, an organization that trains and places assistance dogs with children, veterans, military dependents and people with disabilities. During one day of the Count the Cans food drive, paws4people received monetary donations from the campaign.
