ARRIS Appoints Karen Renner as Chief Information Officer

ARRIS International plc announced that Karen Renner has joined the company as chief information officer (CIO), reporting to CEO Bruce McClelland. Renner will lead the Information Technology (IT) team out of Suwanee, Georgia.
"Karen Renner is a firm believer in building the culture, capacity, and capability of the IT team to take full advantage of digital opportunities that help drive business results," said Bruce McClelland, CEO, ARRIS. "ARRIS will look to Karen to strengthen our IT program in pursuit of our next stage of growth."
Renner brings more than 25 years of IT leadership experience to ARRIS. Previously, she was the North American CIO for Thales, a global aerospace, defense and security company with operations in 56 countries. Before Thales, she served as CIO for global aluminum company Novelis. She also led IT as CIO for GE's security and digital energy businesses.
"What drew me to ARRIS is its focus on transforming the way people connect in our digital world," stated Renner. "I look forward to refining that focus through our IT program as part of the ARRIS executive leadership team."
The Atlanta Business Journal recognized Renner as one of the region's Top 100 Technology Leaders. She was also named CIO of the Year by the Georgia CIO Leadership Association. Renner replaces Phil Baldock, who is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.
