High Note Music Competition Returns to Kennesaw State University Friday, September 21st

Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Thursday, September 20th, 2018

The second annual High Note Music Competition returns to the Kennesaw State University campus on Friday, September 21 at 8:00 p.m. This year, student musicians representing Kennesaw State University, Georgia State University, Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia will compete in the student-run music competition. The evening will be hosted by 11Alive’s Entertainment Anchor Francesca Amiker and Emmy Award-winning CBS-46 journalist Vince Sims.

“I founded High Note to give college musicians a platform to showcase their talents to an audience of both friends and industry professionals,” said Royland Lyons High Note Music Competition Founder. “The competition aims to promote music education, nurture artist growth and foster university relationships — and without the support of our music industry judges, as well as some great sponsors, this would not be possible.”

Competition prizes include a full-length songwriting session with Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter Christopher “Deep” Henderson, and an interview with Adam Bomb of “The Adam Bomb Show” on Atlanta’s Q100 radio. Proceeds from the competition will be donated to a charity selected by the winner. The 2017 winner, Hannah Murphy, chose to donate the competition’s $1,000 to UNICEF.
