The Empty Bowl Fundraiser

Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Monday, October 29th, 2018

The Empty Bowl Fundraiser showcases the Emmaus House feeding program and its impact by inviting the community to enjoy a meal together in the same space as our homeless clients.

The entire community is invited to a Sunday afternoon spent appreciating beautiful handmade pottery provided by various artists throughout Savannah, including the Savannah Clay Community, the LowCountry Turners, and various participating artists. The 'Empty Bowl' itself is a symbol of the lack of food, and patrons take a bowl home with each adult ticket. They then enjoy hot soups provided by various participating restaurants all over the city. Finally, they will enjoy a meal in the dining hall of the Emmaus House soup kitchen where hundreds of homeless and hungry individuals are able to enjoy hot delicious meals each weekday morning, thanks to the United Way and contributions from the Savannah community.

Adult tickets are $20 and includes a bowl to take home of your choosing. Childrens tickets are $5 and include the soup buffet only. Tickets are purchased at the door.
