U.S. Army and 100 Black Men of America Host Local Sudents during "College Tour" at Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia State University

Recognizing the importance of leadership development, the U.S. Army has partnered with the Atlanta Chapter of 100 Black Men of America (100BMOA) to engage and inform local high school students on the countless opportunities available to them while in pursuit of their college degrees and career goals. On Wednesday, December 5th the U.S. Army and 100BMOA will host students from BEST Academy, Coretta Scott King Academy, Henry W. Grady, Washington High School among others, for a half-day college orientation event at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Following on December 6th, High Schools such as McNair & Tower High School will be hosted at Georgia State University.

The U.S. Army opens doors and provides access to higher education, developing leaders through academic scholarships, educational support and advanced training in more than 150 career paths including in high-demand fields such as information technology, engineering and healthcare, among others.

WHAT:

These tour events will consist of a half-day campus visits that provides students and their chaperones or parents a window into the workings of college life. Attendees will hear from representatives of the 100BMOA staff, Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia State University administration officials, student ambassadors, and Army representatives from local commands.

   
 

Representatives will conduct a series of presentations on leadership, admissions requirements and financial aid, as well as discuss the resources available to help prepare, apply and pay for college.
