HealthMPowers Appoints Four New Members to Board of Directors

HealthMPowers has appointed four new members to its board of directors: Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald, former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Amanda Adams, national leader of Nonprofit Tax Services of Cherry Bekaert LLP; Laura Stammer, former Senior Sales Finance Manager at Rheem Manufacturing; and Justin Grimsley, group manager at VMware.

Brenda Fitzgerald served as the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from July 2017 through January 2018. She served as commissioner for the Georgia Department of Public Health from 2011 to 2017. In 2013, Fitzgerald initiated a $1.2 million statewide school physical activity program called "Power Up for 30," meant to promote regular activity, health and academic achievement in Georgia schools. She has also served as the president of the Georgia OB-GYN Society and worked as a board member for many organizations, including the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, the Georgia Public Policy Foundation, and the Georgia State School Board. She is a former U.S. Air Force major.
Amanda Adams oversees tax compliance for numerous nonprofits in her role as national leader of Nonprofit Tax Services for Cherry Bekaert LLP. She is also a senior member of the firm’s education and nonprofit industry groups, guiding a broad array of tax-exempt organizations, including educational institutions, charitable and religious organizations, as well as foundations, museums, social clubs and trade associations.
Laura Stammer has over 25 years of professional accounting and finance experience. Recently, she was a member of the Executive Leadership Team at Rheem Manufacturing providing financial support and analytics to the Water Heating Division sales team responsible for $1.2 billion in revenue. She previously served as the Vice President of Sales Operations for Serta Simmons Bedding from 2005 to 2015, where she started the company’s sales operation finance area.
Justin Grimsley serves as a group manager at VMware, a Fortune 500 software company based in Palo Alto, Calif. He oversees content marketing, digital marketing and customer advocacy. He previously worked as the head of public relations at AirWatch and helped to build the brand to match the company’s billion-dollar valuation. AirWatch received the largest Series A funding round of any software company in history at $200 million in 2013, and was acquired by VMware for $1.54 billion in 2014.
