Fulton County Hosts Open House to Announce Expansion of Behavioral Health Services for Young People
Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO
Monday, January 14th, 2019
Fulton County’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities will host an Open House on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 to reveal the expansion of Behavioral Health Services for youth and young adults by contract providers Chis 180 and Summit Counseling. The Open House will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the North Fulton Service Center located at 7741 Roswell Road, Suite 101, Atlanta, GA 30350.
The service expansion to teens and young adults in North Fulton known as the TREE House program is the result of CHRIS 180 receiving a $ 2.5 million dollars over a 5-year period from the US Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA). The grant allows Chris 180 and Summit counseling to offer free outpatient support for youth and young adults, ages 13-24 who are suffering or recovering from a substance use disorder.
Chris 180 and Summit Counseling are contract providers hired by Fulton County to deliver Behavioral Health Services to adults and youth who are unable to afford private sector services to address behavioral health issues. The County outsourced Behavioral Health Services in 2018 to increase efficiency and increase the number of citizens served by Behavioral Health.
