Spherion has appointed Rebecca Rogers Tijerino as President to succeed outgoing President Sandy Mazur, who will retire in March after more than two decades with the company across a variety of leadership positions. As President, Rogers Tijerino will be responsible for operations and growth strategies as the company expands into new markets and sectors. Spherion recently announced its expansion into 18 new metro markets, each with multiple franchising opportunities.
"I'm excited to lead Spherion to its next phase of growth and continue the great work that Sandy has put in place," said Rogers Tijerino. "Having been in the staffing industry for many years, I know that Spherion has a great reputation for quality, professionalism and customer experience, which are all things that attracted me to the brand. To me, staffing is not just about making a hire – it's about improving people's lives and propelling businesses and communities forward."
In her career, Rogers Tijerino has experience both as an entrepreneur and as an executive for some of the largest staffing companies in the world. Prior to joining Spherion, she was CEO of The Intersect Group, a professional services consulting and staffing firm. She has also held executive leadership positions in local, regional and global firms and has experience in diverse talent solutions including professional and general staffing, executive recruitment, MSP/VMS, RPO and consulting. Her breadth of experience coupled with her desire to help franchisees profitably grow aids Spherion with its plans for expansive growth.
"In our business we talk about making the perfect match for companies, and Rebecca is a perfect match for us to lead the company forward," said Mazur. "Her deep knowledge of the industry combined with her strong leadership qualities and passion for what we do are inspiring to others and will serve her well in her new role."
