Swift Currie Elevates Three Attorneys to Partnership

Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP is pleased to announce the elevation of three attorneys to new partners in the Atlanta office as of January 1, 2019: Jessica M. Phillips, Rebecca E. Strickland and Calvin P. Yaeger. These three additions bring the firm’s partnership to 63 attorneys.

Jessica M. Phillips defends clients in commercial litigation related to arson, application fraud, claim fraud, contractual defenses, mortgagee rights, insurance coverage, subrogation, suit limitation defenses, non-cooperation defenses and first-party bad faith claims. She counsels clients on coverage issues related to various types of insurance policies, including traditional home owners, inland marine, builders’ risk, renters and valuable articles. Phillips joined the firm in 2010. Phillips earned her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and her law degree from Mercer University School of Law.
 
Rebecca E. Strickland focuses her practice in the areas of first-party coverage, premises liability, commercial litigation, arson, fraud and intellectual property. She represents clients in lawsuits regarding premises liability, negligence, the Fair Business Practices Act, the Fair Debt Credit Reporting Act, copyright and trademark infringement, business torts and agency. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, Strickland practiced at another firm for approximately seven years, where her practice focused on commercial litigation and business disputes. Prior to practicing law, Strickland was a consultant at Accenture, where she worked on programming, designed payroll and financial systems for companies, and managed a software support team. Strickland earned her undergraduate degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law.
 
Calvin P. Yaeger represents clients in litigation matters involving automobile and trucking accidents, premises liability, environmental law and construction litigation. His clients include individuals, insurance companies, retailers and other businesses. He joined the firm in 2016. He is a member of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association. Yaeger earned his undergraduate degree from University of Georgia and his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law.
