Veda C. Storey, Tull Professor of Computer Information Systems at Georgia State University’s Robinson College of Business and Professor of Computer Science, earned three academic distinctions in 2018.

In December, Storey was bestowed an Association for Information Systems (AIS) Fellow Award, which celebrates members of the information systems discipline who have made extraordinary achievements in research, teaching and service. The award was presented at the 39th annual International Conference on Information Systems.

Storey received the 2018 Peter P. Chen Award, which commemorates one person each year from computer science or information systems for outstanding contributions to the field of conceptual modeling. She accepted the honor at the 37th International Conference on Conceptual Modeling in October.

Earlier in 2018, Storey received Georgia State University’s Instructional Innovation Award. The accolade highlights teaching innovations resulting in improved learning. As part of her Digital Innovation course, Storey initiated various interdisciplinary experiential learning assignments, including a data analytics project where her student teams collaborated virtually with teams from another course.

“It is rare for an information systems scholar to receive three major awards in the same year,” says Balasubramaniam Ramesh, chair of Robinson’s Department of Computer Information Systems. “These recognitions are a testament to Veda’s significant contributions to our field.”
