Tommy Nobis Center (a Marietta-based nonprofit) that helps individuals with disabilities enter or return to employment, will host its 21st annual Galaxy of Stars Luncheon on Friday, April 26, 2019, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Georgia Aquarium.

Since 1998, corporate and community leaders have gathered at the luncheon to honor the impact of Tommy Nobis Center’s programs, celebrate its participants and raise much needed funds to support ongoing operations.

This year’s Galaxy of Stars event theme is “Together We Rise.” Tommy Nobis Center will present awards to recognize the hard work and dedication of outstanding individuals who embody the legacy of Tommy Nobis and the organization’s mission. Honorees include Lifetime Achievement Award Winners, Bernie and Billi Marcus, philanthropists and founders of the Marcus Autism Center and The Marcus Foundation; Family Member Advocate Award Winner, Alana Shepherd, Co-founder of Shepherd Center; Community Champion Award Winner, former Georgia Governor Nathan Deal; and Tommy Nobis Center Rising Star Award Winner, former program participant Kevin Burke.

Honorary Chair former Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Dan Reeves and the event co-chairs former Atlanta Falcon Greg Brezina and his wife Connie will come together with a roster of sports legends to form an exclusive Atlanta Falcons Legends Team in honor of the legacy of our late co-founder Tommy Nobis and his vision to change the lives of people with disabilities through employment.

“Everyone knew Tommy as a great football player, but I had the privilege of knowing him as a great person who had a huge heart for people with disabilities,” said Coach Reeves. “It is a privilege to be a part of this important event, recognizing other people who have made a big difference in changing the lives of people with disabilities. I am also proud to lead the Atlanta Falcons Legends Team who will stand in support of people with disabilities, honoring Tommy’s legacy. Because, ‘Together We Rise’.”
