Colony Square Turns Red, White and Blue for July 4th
Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO
Friday, June 28th, 2019
At the corner of 14th and Peachtree Streets, over 50 American flags will rise at Colony Square in anticipation of the mixed-use destination’s annual “4th on The Square” Independence Day celebration and the 50th anniversary of the Peachtree Road Race. The flags will fly for two weeks.
Between 7 a.m. and noon on July 4, the community is invited catch a prime race viewing spot to cheer on the 60,000+ participants and enjoy music, light bites and beverages at Colony Square. Runners are encouraged to stop at the corner of 15th and Peachtree Streets near mile six to freshen up with patriotic gear from Colony Square and have their photo snapped in its custom photobooth. Photos will be available on Colony Square's Facebook Page immediately following the race.
“This is a historic year for the Peachtree Road Race, the largest 10K in the world, and as a major landmark along the route, Colony Square is going all out to celebrate,” said Sara Carville, marketing manager at Colony Square. “Our property marks the final turn in the race as people make their ultimate dash toward Piedmont Park. We can’t wait to cheer them on.”
