Atlanta-based nonprofit Women in Technology (WIT) leadership team is pleased to announce that its annual fundraising and networking event WIT Connect 2019 is sold out!

Women in Technology (WIT) empowers girls and women to excel in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) from the classroom to the boardroom. We do this by providing female students in middle school, high school, and college with education, exposure and experience.

WIT Connect takes place Thursday, June 20 from 6-9 at the Georgia Aquarium and will have over 800 top level executives in the technology field in attendance. For those of you who do not have a ticket or are unable to attend WIT Connect this Thursday, there are several ways to support WIT throughout the year.

WIT Connect 2017 Scholarship Winner Norah Jean-Charles shared her thoughts on WIT recently, “I attend Kennesaw State University, where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in computer science. As a senior, I currently have a 3.82 GPA. The scholarship did more than simply help me pay for college; it gave me the opportunity to experience it. Scholarships feed our determination, because they reinforce that people believe in us…they give us hope. Thank you very much for investing in our futures.”

Women of the Year
This year’s WIT’s Women of the Year (WOTY) Awards will take place Thursday, November 14 at the Georgia Aquarium. The event celebrates women who are actively engaged in Georgia’s STEAM community with roles in Small, Medium and Large/Enterprise organizations. This year, we will celebrate a woman in the Non-profit arena as well. Additionally, one special middle or high school girl is recognized as the Girl of the Year (GOTY) for her participation in the WIT GIRLS program. Donations are welcome at WOTY! Volunteer
WIT seeks volunteers year-round to deliver professional development and networking opportunities to our more than 3,000 professionals, and programs at no charge to more than 1,500 students. Our team of more than 300 volunteers WIT is committed to making Georgia the state with the highest percentage of women in the STEAM workforce by providing opportunities that champion women throughout their education and career. WIT Connect 2017 Scholarship Winner Etienne Baptiste commented about the importance of WIT, “Women In Technology is the best thing that has helped me develop into the Woman in Technology that I am today. Without this organization, I wouldn't have realized the countless number of women who are in various technology careers. I was so impressed and inspired to know that one day that could be me! Now, I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Spelman College and I am currently an analytics intern at BrightWave, an Ansira company.”
