One of Atlanta’s most popular annual traditions returns on September 21 for its tenth year! Created and hosted by Chantelle Rytter and the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons, the Art on the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade will take place along two miles of the Eastside Trail. Participants are encouraged to join with their own lanterns and enjoy the lights and music of one of the most magical evenings of the season.

Lineup for the parade begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Irwin Street entrance to the Eastside Trail. At 8:00 p.m., the parade will step off and travel north on the trail to Piedmont Park. Four marching bands will accompany the Krewe and the parade in order of appearance: Seed & Feed Marching Abominables (celebrating their 45th year!), Black Sheep Ensemble, Sabor Brass Band, and ATL Freedom Band.

Be advised that Irwin Street will be closed beginning at 6 p.m. between Sampson Street and Krog Street. Traffic should re-route around to Edgewood or DeKalb Avenues; however, alternative modes of transportation are highly encouraged. The closest MARTA stations are Inman Park/Reynoldstown at the south end of the route and Midtown at the north end of the route. Visit itsmarta.com for more details.

The procession parades by the Old Fourth Ward Fall Festival which takes place in Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, September 21. Additionally, Art on the Atlanta BeltLine artist Cannupa Hanska Luger will have an interactive station, building on his current body of work.
