Citi Private Bank Atlanta Increases Presence with Four New Hires

Citi Private Bank announced the addition of four new members to its growing team in Atlanta. The team, based in the Buckhead area, focuses on catering to the investment needs of ultra-high net worth individuals and families in the city, as well as the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky.
“We are seeing strong economic growth in the Southern U.S. and with it, there has been a surge of wealth creation and investment in the region, said Luke Palacio, Regional Market Manager – Southeast US, Citi Private Bank. “We have built out our talent based in Atlanta to help advise sophisticated investors, like Family Offices, who are looking for bespoke, institutional investment capabilities and expertise in the bourgeoning region. This expansion reiterates the importance of the market and our ability to provide investment advice and credit services in various sectors, including Commercial Real Estate, Technology and Healthcare,” he continued.
Citi Private Bank’s most recent hires include Mr. Frank Lankford, Mr. Lawrence (Larry) Quinn, Mr. Denton King and Mr. James (Jimmy) Morris.
Frank Lankford joins Citi from J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Atlanta, where he was a responsible for delivering the firm’s investing, wealth transfer, credit and philanthropic services to ultra-high net worth clients in the Southeast region. Previously, Frank worked for Morgan Keegan as an Institutional Equity Sales Trader. In this role, he worked with mutual and hedge funds while providing clients with research, analysis and trading ideas. Previously, Frank was a Wealth Strategist at SunTrust Bank. Frank graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor's in Political Science and received his MBA in Finance from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
Larry Quinn also worked at J.P. Morgan Private Bank as an Investor before joining Citi. He managed private bank trading and investment portfolios consisting of endowments, foundations, ultra-high net worth individuals and institutions. Before that, Larry worked at J.P. Morgan as a relationship manager in the greater New Orleans area. He also worked as an Energy Trader at Pan American Energy, LLC and a DCM Analyst at Merrill Lynch. Larry began his career as a Sovereign Credit Research Analyst at M. Harris & Associates in the Republic of Panama. He graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor's in Political Science / International Relations.
Denton King joins Citi from J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where he worked as an Investment Specialist. After starting his career in Denver with First Capital Business Development, Denton joined J. P. Morgan in 2012 and eventually relocated to Atlanta, where he is originally from. Most recently, Denton advised on assets for ultra-high net worth clients largely based in the Atlanta Metro region. Denton graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor's in Economics. Denton is also a Board Member and Treasurer of the Salvation Army of Atlanta.
Jimmy Morris also worked as an Investment Specialist at J.P. Morgan Private Bank before joining Citi, where he advised on assets for ultra-high net worth clients in Atlanta and Charlotte. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2012, Jimmy worked with Cambridge Associates in Boston as a Consulting Associate, providing private and institutional clients with advice on asset allocation and manager selection. Jimmy graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor's in Finance and holds a CFA charter.
Messrs. Lankford, Quinn, King and Morris report to Luke Palacio and join Austin Koenen, Ultra High Net Worth Private Banker, and Doug Poetzsch, Investment Counselor, who are also based in the Atlanta office.
