TiE Atlanta has received $25,000 from The Mookerji Foundation for its award-winning youth entrepreneurship program, TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE). The donor has also challenged the community-at-large to double the donation, totaling to $50,000, to support the annual high school and university program.

“We are excited to present TiE Atlanta with this donation because we believe in the work of its youth program,” said Sophie Mookerji, president of The Mookerji Foundation. “The Mookerji Foundation works to provide children with access to quality education, and we feel what TiE Atlanta’s doing to support youth with entrepreneur education ties in with our mission.”

The donation will enhance the program’s offerings by over 40 percent to increase its entrepreneurial impact and expand it to new communities across Atlanta.

“This generous donation impacts our youth entrepreneurship program in a positive, meaningful way,” said Paul Lopez, president of TiE Atlanta. “We can enhance our curriculum, bring on more mentors; and also expand our ability in keeping with our mission to foster entrepreneurship across Georgia.

“The challenge to double the donation calls on the community to invest in our youth so they can work towards a winning future. We are excited for this opportunity and look forward to not only matching but exceeding the donation to continue building a program to foster the next generation of entrepreneurs.” Tax-deductible donations can be made to the TiE Atlanta Foundation.

TYE is the signature youth entrepreneurship program of TiE Atlanta, a local nonprofit that invents invests in, and inspires entrepreneurs through mentoring, education, funding, and networking. It expanded into universities and colleges in 2013.
