More than 140 electric vehicle (EV) owners, auto manufacturers, global corporations, and state leaders will gather Sunday for the Southeast’s largest “EV caravan.”
The event begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 20 at Georgia Power Headquarters, 241 Ralph McGill Blvd NE, Atlanta, GA 30308. It will conclude at 6 p.m. at Serenbe Farms, 10950 Hutcheson Ferry Rd, Chattahoochee Hills, GA 30268
At 1 p.m., the event kicks off with a pre-caravan rally where caravan drivers and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Marching Band will be available for media interviews and vehicle experiences. Members of the media will also have the opportunity to participate in a “ride along” with state leaders and/or caravan drivers for the ride to Serenbe Farms in Chattahoochee Hills. There, nearly 2,500 Georgians will gather for RayDay, the annual celebration of the life and legacy of Ray C. Anderson, a native Georgian recognized as a leader in green business.
“The EV Caravan is a great way to promote the value of electric vehicles,” said Public Service Commission Vice Chairman Tim Echols. “I’m grateful to the Ray C. Anderson foundation for organizing the caravan and their tireless support of sustainability in our state.”
Organizers and attendees of the EV Caravan include Commissioner Echols; Georgia legislators, including Senator Randy Robertson and Representatives Todd Jones & Scott Holcomb; The ATL Executive Director Chris Tomlinson, and; representatives from The Ray, Georgia Power, Cobb EMC, Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia College and State University, UPS, KIA, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Tesla, Cobb County, DeKalb County, City of Brookhaven, City of Atlanta, City of Peachtree Corners and more to be announced.
