From a one-man show to a nationally recognized, full-service event planning and design firm, WM Events has reached the exciting milestone of celebrating 15 years in business.
Founded by award-winning designer William Fogler, the company executes events from large-scale corporate galas to nonprofit fundraisers, intimate social gatherings and everything in between. Initially a planning firm, today, WM Events also offers décor and design services, which allows for partnering with other planning companies to produce major, high-profile events. The firm’s client list has included the likes of Audi, Doosan, Georgia Tech, Pratt Industries, Shaw Industries, TAG Heuer, TechBridge and University of Georgia, as well as many celebrities and private event hosts.
"I launched this company with a passion for bringing creativity and innovation to events in Atlanta,” said Fogler, principal. “Fifteen years later, I am fortunate to say that I have an experienced and dedicated team, and we have had the opportunity to design and produce events in the U.S. from coast to coast and even on a private island in the BVI. It’s been a truly incredible experience!”
While company growth has been consistent, the past two years in particular have brought significant advancement for WM Events. Staff has increased by 30 percent, and the firm now boasts 11 full-time employees and more than a dozen contractors. Some of the company’s growth has come from an upsurge among Atlanta-based clients. But there has also been an increase in non-local corporations and individuals seeking to hold events in Atlanta and clients in smaller metropolitan areas hiring WM Events to bring innovative event solutions to them in their hometowns.
In addition to event design, planning and execution, WM Events now has a full floral production arm. The office is augmented by an outdoor garden seating area for al fresco meetings and a large warehouse stocking supplies and décor. The company has a fleet of three, including one refrigerated truck. All of this has sprouted from Fogler’s initial sole proprietorship.
WM Events has become an important figure in the Atlanta community, fosters strong relationships with nonprofit organizations like Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding, Caring For Others Inc., Museum of Design Atlanta and Wounded Warrior Project. After events, the firm often donates floral arrangements to nonprofit offices and board meetings, as well as charities like elder care facilities.
Throughout its 15th year, WM Events plans to feature two special series on its design blog and will hold an anniversary event in March 2020.
“This has been a wonderful 15 years, and I am grateful to everyone who has helped support us along the way – clients, staff, vendors and, of course, friends and family,” said Fogler. “There have been some challenges along the way, but I wouldn’t have wanted to miss a minute.”
