Chamberlain Hrdlicka announces it will host its 34th Annual Tax and Business Planning Seminar at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia in Atlanta on Tuesday, November 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
 
Attendees will gain valuable knowledge from members of Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s nationally recognized tax, labor and employment, corporate and employee benefits practices. Afternoon workshops include a choice of six trending tax and business planning topics: “International Tax, New IRS Enforcement Efforts, and Key Issues for 2019;” “Predicting and Preparing for the Future of the Estate and Gift Taxes – Revisited and Updated;” “What a Year it Was – State and Local Tax Update; Drilling Down to the Truth: Getting to an Accurate Valuation;” “No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: The IRS War on Conservation Easements;” and “Everything You Know About Low Carb Diets is Wrong: How a Tax Court Case About Frozen Bagels Revolutionized Family Office Planning.” Workshops will be led by shareholders John Hackney, J. Scot Kirkpatrick,Hale Sheppard and Christopher Steele; senior counsels Adam Koelsch, Jeffrey Luechtefeld, Jennifer Lindy and Steve Wyatt; and associatesCassandra Bradford, Jasen Hanson, Stephen Heymann, Patrick McCann, Jr. and J. Chamberlain Hrdlicka Shareholder David D. Aughtry will address judicial highlights during the lunch program with his presentation “The Devil is in the Details,” highlighting the courts’ focus on technical requirements imposed on both the IRS and taxpayers to ensure compliance with those technical requirements. Aughtry’s practice focuses on civil and criminal tax litigation. He is recognized as a national authority in tax litigation by Chambers USA, the Legal 500 Litigation Guide and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Daily Report for his years of success and lasting impact on the Georgia legal community. Aughtry previously served as president and chairman of the Southern Federal Texas Institute and is currently on its board of trustees.
