Hyperion Bank has named Steve Cope as Portfolio Manager and Assistant Vice President. Hyperion, a full-service Philadelphia-based community bank, received regulatory approval to open an Atlanta office, and began doing business here Sept. 25.

“Steve is very focused on customer service, directly impacting the people and businesses we serve by making sure all parties involved in any banking process have the best experience possible,” says Alisha Nasse, Director of Business Development for Hyperion. “I’ve been fortunate to work with Steve before and am honored that he is bringing his experience and customer-centric approach to our team.”

The Atlanta native has worked with the big-box banks, but also with high-touch community banks like Hyperion. Steve has 20+ years’ experience in banking in the Atlanta market. He previously served as Portfolio Manager at SouthCrest Bank. He is highly skilled in customer relations, linking their needs to products and services to meet and exceed expectations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Georgia Tech and an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University.

“My approach is to step into the customer’s shoes while wearing my company hat,” Cope says. “After all, banking is a ‘people business’ – I enjoy getting to know the customers and making them feel good about doing business with us.”

Away from the bank, Cope enjoys tennis, hiking the Appalachian Trail, and spending time with his wife Sheila and their son, Brian. They reside in the Chamblee/Brookhaven area of North Atlanta.
