The Atlanta Women’s Foundation Elects Coke Executive and King & Spalding Partner to the Board of Directors

The Atlanta Women’s Foundation (AWF) has elected two new members to its Board of Directors. The new board members are leaders in their industry and bring a passion for supporting the women and girls of Atlanta. Under Board Chair Jennifer W. Hightower, AWF is poised to continue to expand its programs, fundraising, and community engagement.
 
“As the only public foundation in Georgia dedicated solely to women and girls, AWF exists because barriers to success continue to impede women and girls living in poverty. The new board members are committed to making a difference in the lives of women and girls in our community,” said AWF CEO Kari Love.
 
AWF Board Chair and General Counsel and SVP of Law and Policy at Cox Communications Jennifer Hightower added, “The entire AWF Board looks forward to working with them to help women and girls in our community achieve success.”
 
Joining the Board are Carolyn Alford who is a senior finance partner at King & Spalding and Joanna Price who is Senior Vice President, Public Affairs & Communications, Coca-Cola North America (CCNA) at The Coca-Cola Company. Alford leads the firm’s Global Finance and Financial Services practices and her experience spans syndicated acquisition financings, asset-based lending, private placements and mezzanine/second lien structures. She graduated from Duke University and Harvard Law School.
 
Price has more than two decades of experience in public affairs and communications, particularly in the food and beverages sector. As a member of CCNA’s Executive Leadership Team, she manages the overall public affairs and communications strategy for The Coca-Cola Company’s North American business. She leads multiple high-performing teams, which focus on external communications, employee and leadership communications, community partnerships and stakeholder engagement, social commitment marketing, and government relations.
